April 20, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - Following an impressive debut last fall, emerging country artist Dayna Reidis ready to make her mark on the industry with the announcement of her fiery new single "The Way You Lie," set for release April 28 via Open Road Recordings. Written by Beverley Mahood, Mac Shepherd, and Bruce Wallace, "The Way You Lie" is the lead single from Reid's sophomore collection of music to be released later this year. "When I heard this tune I knew I wanted to sing it, I love strong female anthems that speak to the women who are listening," Dayna shares on the new track. "'The Way You Lie' is the last thing you would say before you slam the door on a relationship that’s been full of lies, and you’ve had enough. You’ve moved on - no more of this guy and his lies. The door is shut and you don’t care what’s going on behind it anymore."
The new release follows the success of her latest single “She’s Me,” which landed the Elmvale, ON native her first Top 40 radio hit and the titles of iHeartRadio’s Future Star, and Stingray Radio’s Trending Track. With her early success and an arsenal of new music in her pocket, Dayna has been named a Top 8 finalist in the prestigious SiriusXM Top of the Country competition.
Dayna discovered her voice at a young age, and grew up surrounded by small town stories. She began to put those stories into songs after picking up the guitar and working tirelessly to perfect her craft and pursue a career in music. In the summer of 2019, Dayna was introduced to multi-CCMA award winning artist Beverley Mahood, who quickly became a mentor and one of her closest songwriting partners. Dayna worked tirelessly on writing her story and creating the music that resonated with her most, resulting in her debut EP Back To The Trailer.
