FULL SUMMER FESTIVAL SCHEDULE + CAMPFIRE TROUBADOUR ACOUSTIC TOUR ANNOUNCED
June 2, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - Multi-platinum award winning artist Tim Hicks kicks summer into high gear with the release of his new EP Campfire Troubadour Volume II via Open Road Recordings. Listen HERE. Erupting with the good vibes of a Canadian summer, the second Campfire Troubadour collection turns up the party while still maintaining the stripped back feeling of its JUNO Award & CCMA Award nominated predecessor.
"This time around, Jeff Coplan (producer extraordinaire) and I talked a lot about how we would make Volume II different from the first, but still keep the same spirit. We decided to keep our “Campfire Troubadour” rules in place," Hicks shares. "These rules include, but are not limited to: only using instruments that you can/would bring to a campfire; no recording tricks like double tracking (this one killed me, I love singing my own harmonies); and no autotune allowed! This time, we also made the party bigger by inviting Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers, Elvis Costello) to play accordion, and Jenée Fleenor (Loving Mary, Woodbox Heroes) to play fiddle. We also brought in Tony James to play a plethora of hand drums to give us the groove! The result? Seven new tracks for you to crack a cold one to in the backyard, or at the campsite this summer!"
The seven track collection revels in a jovial, vacation-ready energy that is perfect to be shared around any campfire or backyard party this summer. Campfire Troubadour Volume II turns up the volume of its predecessor; whether it's bringing the island vibes of "Puerto Backyarda," the classic Canadiana feeling of "All That You Leave Behind" and "Two of Us," or encouraging a group sing-a-long such as "I'm Not As Think As You Drunk I Am" and "Carry You Home" - the EP will have fans chanting along throughout the summer.
With the first run of dates for the Campfire Troubadour Tour announced, Hicks is gearing up for summer festival season, including performances at Dauphin Countryfest, Trois-Riveres Exposition, Country On The Bay, and headlining the opening night of Boots & Hearts.
