JUNO Award nominee and CCMA Award winner Tim Hicks announced today the release of his boisterous new single “Stompin’ Ground” (via Open Road Recordings/Universal Music Canada), available June 10th at radio and all digital retailers. Co-written by Hicks and produced by Corey Crowder (who recently celebrated his second #1 U.S. single with Chris Young), “Stompin’ Ground” is the first single from Hicks’ forthcoming new album, due out later this year. On June 6th, Hicks will debut the first performance of “Stompin’ Ground” on Facebook Live at 7 p.m. ET.

I’m so excited to release this song and perform it live,” says Hicks. “I’ve never been more comfortable in my own shoes as an artist and songwriter and I think this song is living proof of that. “Stompin’ Ground” is a definite reflection of my need to constantly push my own limits personally and the limits of my music in general.”
From local success to becoming an instantly recognized name in country music, Hicks is celebrating the release of “Stompin’ Ground” with a busy summer filled with festival and headline appearances including his third annual “Summer Throwdown” at Kee to Bala on July 9th. He’ll share the stage with the likes of Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival on August 5th and will kick things off at the Calgary Stampede on July 7th. Fans can also catch the four-time GOLD certified artist as he rings in Country Day with the Toronto Blue Jays on June 12th at the Rogers Centre.

Hicks’ previous album 5:01+ garnered the award-winning performer three Top 10 singles and five CCMA Award nominations and in 2015 he was awarded a SOCAN Award for the high-energy hit “Got a Feeling” off his debut release Throw Down. Named “one to watch” by the Toronto Star, Hicks has spent the last few months writing in Nashville, working on new tracks for his anticipated third full-length album.

Tonight Hicks joins The Road Hammers for a special collaborative performance at the 2016 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards where he is nominated in several categories, including Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Fans’ Choice.
