November 12, 2014 (Toronto, ON) – Gearing up for their first, full-length Canadian tour, Blackjack Billy will not only be bringing a full album’s worth of new music on the road, but they will also have their brand new single “RUN” in tow. Featuring Open Road Recordings label and tour mates The Road Hammers and Doc Walker, “RUN” gives fans a taste of what to expect at each Bands on the Run show: a rockin’, redneck country goodtime. Kicking off on November 20th in Fredericton, NB, Bands on the Run will see Blackjack Billy and Canadian country music heavyweights The Road Hammers and Doc Walker sharing the stage at 19 venues across the nation.

Releasing their debut album Rebel Child to Canadian fans just last month, Blackjack Billy has already proven to be one of the hottest up-and-coming, redneck rockers from south of the border. With their Platinum selling single “Booze Cruise,” hits like “Get Some,” “Got a Feeling” and the brand new single “Sugar Cane,” Rebel Child combines a rough grit and high-energy sound that fans have embraced. Produced by the band’s own Jeff Coplan, Rebel Child is just the beginning for the antics Blackjack Billy has in store for Canadian followers.

No strangers to the Canadian tour trails, JUNO award winning duo Doc Walker will also bring some new music to the stage with the release of their latest album The 8th. Following the two top hits, “Put It Into Drive” and “Shake It Like It’s Saturday Night”, the album’s latest smash hit “That’s How I Like It” has already climbed into the Top 15 and can be heard on all country radio stations across Canada. Since breaking into the country music scene over two decades ago, Doc Walker has delivered over 25 radio hits, becoming one of Canada’s most celebrated country acts to date.

Also on the bill for Bands on the Run are Canadian country music legends The Road Hammers. Those attending the show will most definitely enjoy some of their classic hits along with their recently certified GOLD single “MUD” from their fourth album Wheels, released earlier this year. Proving their road-warrior status, fans are invited to check out the video for their latest single “I’ve Been Everywhere” to catch a glimpse of their crazy tour antics.

Travelling from New Brunswick to British Columbia and everywhere in between, tickets for all Bands on the Run dates can be found on Fans now also have the chance to win a pair of tickets to the show in their town, plus a CD pack by entering the official Bands on the Run contest here.
