Contemporary breakout duo Sons of Daughters have been hard at work writing, producing and recording their debut EP, “Love In A Bar”, released across all platforms on July 5. The talented pair is comprised of Jimmy Thow and Chrystal Leigh, hailing from Vancouver, BC, now based in Nashville, Tennessee, where they have been turning heads north and south of the border.

The compilation of six tracks was written and recorded between Nashville and Toronto, and the duo co-wrote each song (with the exception of a Metallica cover) and Thow played a role in producing efforts, alongside Grammy and CMA nominated producer Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne).

On July 31, the second single titled “What If We Stay” will be released to Canadian country radio. The catchy, mid-tempo ballad explores the idea of sticking it out and attempting to make it work in a relationship, through turmoil and challenges that may arise.

The body of work on “Love In A Bar” exemplifies the duo’s unique ability to bring both a male and female perspective to their songwriting craft, while carving out their own unique sound in the modern country scene through captivating vocal harmonies, and swampy guitar riffs, powered by catchy lyrics. Much of the original content is inspired by their own personal experiences with falling in love, heartbreak and ultimately getting back on your feet.

“We spent more than 3 years developing our sound in Nashville, pulling from our past influences alongside the new ones that we’ve made, which has resulted in the songs that you hear on this record,” said Chrystal Leigh and Jimmy Thow. “We wanted to make sure we captured the ups and downs of our lives, and stayed actively involved in the creation of the songs all the way to the production and final mixes. Ultimately we are really proud of this record and can’t wait for it to be heard.”

Since their move to Nashville, the duo has collaborated with numerous Grammy-nominated, hit songwriters, have showcased at the iconic Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room, and Nashville’s favourite Monday night party, Whiskey Jam, large-scale festival gigs such as CMA-fest and Boots & Hearts, and returned from a US tour with acclaimed indie rock acoustic folk group, Birdtalker. Back at home in Canada, they have also been part of the Sirius XM Top of the Country competition and The Launch, and have found success with their debut single “Ain’t Gonna be Lonely Long”, which reached Billboard’s Top 15, and amassed more than 1 million global streams.

Sons of Daughters are gearing up for a busy summer festival season performing at several shows country including; Canada Day festivities inSmithville (ON), Sussex SummerFest (NB), Lucknow Music in the Fields (ON), and The Magnetic Hill (NB) where they will be opening for Luke Bryan.
